What We Are All About

The Aberdeen Area Gift of Life transplant support group was formed in 1997 with a charter group of five members and has grown ever since. We would like to thank all who have donated organs to those in need. Our group realizes the hardship of making the decision to donate, and we are here to thank you.Aberdeen Area Gift of Life gives support to its members and support to the community by sharing our experiences with others. To share our Gift of Life we have become a presence in our community. We participate in community service projects, raise awareness for the importance of organ donation, and lend emotional support to those that organ donation has affected. If you would like to get involved, check out our calendar of events or contact any of our officers.

Check Us Out on the Radio!

All of those who have signed up to record a PSA- I appricate all those who did- the radio stations have decided to just do one recording. So I sent them a generic PSA about the group and the importance of National Donate Life Month!

April is finally here! This is our chance to share our stories and express the importance of organ donation.
The month started off with our meeting held at Millstone.
Lorinda Towe celebrated her anniversary by reading the poem for the candlelight ceremony

We are very busy this month-

  • We have a display up at the library explaining the importance of organ donation
  • We will have a booth up at the Aberdeen Health Fair April 26th at the Civic Theater
  • Many members have put up flowers at their local churches
  • We also have group members signed up to record local PSA's sharing their stories

Donor Awareness Month is Fast Approaching

As we all know April is on it's way, which means Aberdeen Gift of Life group is going to be very busy!!!
In April, we try to spread the word about the importance of organ donation.

  • We put up a board at the local library explaining who and what we are about.
  • We also host a table at the local Health Fair
  • We will also put together some PSA's for the local radio stations
Our goal is let people know how important organ donation is and how it affects people in their community.
