What We Are All About

The Aberdeen Area Gift of Life transplant support group was formed in 1997 with a charter group of five members and has grown ever since. We would like to thank all who have donated organs to those in need. Our group realizes the hardship of making the decision to donate, and we are here to thank you.Aberdeen Area Gift of Life gives support to its members and support to the community by sharing our experiences with others. To share our Gift of Life we have become a presence in our community. We participate in community service projects, raise awareness for the importance of organ donation, and lend emotional support to those that organ donation has affected. If you would like to get involved, check out our calendar of events or contact any of our officers.

December Meeting

The December meeting was held at Zion Lutheran Church. We had our traditional potluck and even played a game:)

Christmas Jeopardy

See you at the next meeting- which will be held at the Millstone on Jan. 7 @ 6PM

Busy, Busy, Busy

We have been busy this past month-
Sue and Loren put up our tree at the Dakotah Prairie Museum---spoiler alert---new ornaments coming next year!!

Stuffing bags for the Salvation Army!!- we had so many people helping out- it went so well. Thanks everyone for your help:)

November Meeting!

The November meeting was held at Sandford Hospital (to see if we liked the location/food). We had over 31 people in attendance! That is an amazing turnout. The candle ceremony was read by Jodi and lit by Glen for his November anniversary.

We tried Sandford Hospital this month, but next month is at Zion Lutheran for the Christmas Meeting and I have something special in mind for a game:)

Hope to see everyone there!

Huge Success!

Even with the emergency change of location, we had a huge turnout!

During the meeting we had Sonya (celebrating her 21st anniversary of her lung transplant) and Lyle (celebrating his 3rd anniversary) perform the candle ceremony.

We discussed the parade and when we were going to put together the float, sadly the weather turned ugly and we decided not to participate. That was a tough decision, but best choice given the circumstances. We also discussed having a Thirty-one Fundraiser ---more to come at the next meeting about that!

Big Changes Coming!!

As of  8pm tonight new officers were elected!
The new officers are:
Samantha Huber (me) as President
Josh Wieland  as Vice President
Loren Jerde as Treasurer
Lorinda Towe as Secretary again:)
Take the time to congratulate everyone in their new positions.

Parade Theme "Fishing for Donors"

We chose the theme "Fishing for Donors" as our slogan this year. We will be putting together the float on Friday at 6pm at Ray and Denise's house (contact any of the officers for address) for anyone who would like to help:) See everyone on Saturday morning at the parade!!!

Gypsy Day Parade is coming soon!

As you all know the Gypsy Day Parade is coming up soon. The theme is "Gypsies on Vacation." Any suggestions???

The Picnic

The group is getting together on Tuesday, August 6th for our potluck picnic! It is a great time for everyone to share and discuss anything and everything that happened this summer. Hope to see everyone there!

Update- Picnic went very well!
The Grill Team:)
